An Initiative of Pennsylvania State Senator Jim Ferlo

Senator Jim Ferlo began the Pittsburgh Impeach Bush campaign to educate the public, advocate for accountability, and raise the debate in the public realm of whether the Bush Administration's breach of the public trust represents "high crimes and misdemeanors" as required by the Constitution for Impeachment.

Senator Ferlo's efforts are part of a nationwide initiative, as H.Res. 635, 636, and 637 introduced to the US Congress by Representative John Conyers have sparked a national debate. In cities and towns across the country, support continues to mount for an investigation of impeachable offenses committed by the Bush Administration. Nationwide, local organizers have gathered the support of millions and coordinated through the internet to march in protest on Washington and run full-page newspaper ads in the New York Times, USA Today and others.

January Initiative

In January 2006, Senator Ferlo announced his intention to gather signatures from citizens in Pittsburgh and around the region to voice their support for his effort to run a full-page advertizement announcing the start of the campaign and the need for public education, discourse, and debate. The response was overwhelming. Within a matter of days, thousands of signatures poured in on the pittsburghimpeachbush.org website.
