Each day our freedom is being taken away a little at a time and when one day we wake up without it we will find that we have lost it all, in the name of 9-11. 9-11 was a tragic and horrible loss to us all, yet freedom is more important than anything I know. I also think that the Bush Administration let 911 happen in order to give the White House a reason to fight this Oil War. I would like the 911 commission to investigate the SOP failures of military on 9/11/01. Why did the FAA and the US Military ignore SOP and not intercept those planes in a timely manner. At 8:45 AM flight 11 hit the WTC, at 9:03, flight 175 hit the second WTC tower, 9:40 flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon and at 10:10 AM Flight 93 crashed in Shanksville, PA. Yet the most amazing feature of the U.S government's response to these events was the absence of it. Is our military incompetent or was the response deliberately delayed. I do not believe the problem was incompetence, so one must ask why, what really happened? This needs to be fully investigated by the FBI and media, there are to many unanswered questions.

Jim Ferlo's impeachment petition regarding President Bush. How does a mature democracy such as the United States find out if the president committed "high crimes and misdemeanors" if there is not an inquiry into his more dubious shenanigans? "King George" has done what all usurpers of power do: They keep the governed off-balance with misinformation, consolidate power and do whatever it takes to enlarge their power. It is up to organizations like city newspapers to keep the public informed with accurate and pertinent information to keep usurpers of power in check. George W. Bush is as arrogant a leader as we have witnessed in a long time. I am fully aware that arrogance does not make a high crime or a misdemeanor, but if you knit together this administration's abuse, the ball of yarn will unravel the house of cards that King George has built. At the very least, we expose the schemes that were hatched in the White House and make adjustments for the future. It is imperative that we send a message to this president and all presidents of the future: The governed will not permit abuse of power and neglect of the social contract that we call the Constitution. How many more blunders must we endure for King George and his neo-con chicken hawks? It has simply become embarrassing. The message that Sen. Ferlo wants to send must come from as far and as wide across the United States as possible to show how important the American people think this matter. And for the Post-Gazette to characterize Mr. Ferlo's action as "howling at the moon," I can say only that it is troubling that a newspaper charged with the public's trust would not be howling right alongside Mr. Ferlo.
